CHARACTER
NAME: Seifer Almasy
FANDOM: Final Fantasy VIII
TIMELINE PERIOD: At the game-end sequence, where he is seen fishing with Fujin and Raijin.
BACKGROUND:
Seifer had been Squall Leonhart (the protagonist)'s archrival since young. He grew up with four of the other main characters in an orphanage, but was often seen as a bully. Taunting Squall, bashing Zell, teasing the girls were his hobbies even as they moved on to Balamb Garden.

Seifer is a gunblade specialist (again, like Squall), and forms a famous posse consisting of Fujin and Raijin, who follow him everywhere. He is arrogant and reckless, and likes to see himself as the best. A 'romantic' childhood dream of his since young was to be a sorceress' knight. As he had never succeeded in becoming a SeeD (the elite mercenary force), it caused him to go astray and join forces with the evil sorceress Edea (or Ultimecia in Edea's body, as it turned out).

A typical sparring with Squall earned both of them scars that mirrored each other (symbolizing their contradicting relationship). Both of them wield gunblades, both are stubborn and headstrong, and Seifer had even dated Rinoa (Squall's girlfriend). One of the main sideplots in the game is their rivalry.

Seifer sees himself as the hero, and prefers to act alone. However, this led him to his downfall as his posse left him (for his own good) and he was defeated while protecting the sorceress. Near the end of the game - which he will be taken from - he seemed relaxed and was fishing with Fujin and Raijin. Finally he was at peace with the world again.
